An urban casino must seamlessly integrate into the surrounding area to be the most successful. The place where our casino must sit is a place where entertainment and commercial developments are in proximity. The Downtown Rockford area has a lot to offer the local and tourist alike!
Downtown Rockford is home to some excellent venues. The historic and beautiful Coronado Performing Arts Center is a home for the arts, where music and theatrical productions reside. Rockford also boasts the BMO Harris Center, home of our IceHogs and a great concert venue. We will also be getting a new convention center next year, connected to the new Embassy Suites Hotel downtown.
Rockford also boasts many new and delicious places to grab something to eat or drinks with friends. There are many exciting restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, such as Taco Betty’s, Prairie Street Brewing Company, Woodfire Pizza, Social, Capri, Rockford Roasting Company, Octane InterLounge, and District Bar and Grill. There is something for everyone.
Downtown Rockford also is home to many local retail establishments such as the Rockford Art Deli, Arch Apothecary, Minglewood, 510 Threads, Palace Shoe Repair, Bath & Body Fusion, The Symbols Menswear, and the Fred VanVleet (FVV) Store. In the summer months, the City Market is a host to a multitude of local artists and vendors.
An urban casino must also have access to transportation. Our casino location is only a few minutes from the Main Street Exit on Route 20. Along with our casino, a proposed rail station is in the works, a short walk from our casino and entertainment district’s location. Rockford also has a Mass Transit Service and access to ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft.
Rockford’s Downtown area is booming, and the addition of a casino and entertainment district would be a massive investment into the downtown area and its future.
